HSIS Races - Cyberbrains

Description

Another one from Alienology! Basically, for the whole thing, I was aiming for a sort of VERY old Retro Futuristic Robot feel. There's more on that too! Still, here are the ones featured here....

- Roblock 0101. An especially old model individual, who's lived for a long time. And it shows. The Roblock model of Cyber-Body is at least 60 years outdated, as it's quite a clunky model compared to the newer and shinier ones. But a combination of lack of funds, and a sentimental attachment to this old model has convinced Roblock that he likes it just the way it is. At least for another 10 years, until he'll have to change it to keep on living. (Based on Chani, from "Devil Girl From Mars" (1954))

- Brainstormer 5000. An example of a VERY new and shiny Cyber-Body model. The Brainstormer model has a balanced mix of brains, brawn, and various extra features that allow for multiple functions. However, it's also a quite expensive model, which Brainstormer supposes is completely a fair trade. He's actually the bigger brother of Cyberbrain 2340, who is somewhat envious that he was able to muster the funds to afford it. (Based on a picture I found on Google Images)

- Cyberbrain 2340. An HSIS student with a passion for games and media entertainment, with the Cyberbrain model! One of the more popular ones of this decade! One that puts a lot of emphasis on brainpower and CPU, albeit compared to other models, is not all that strong. Don't get me wrong, he's a good deal taller, stronger, and sturdier than most humans. But he's basically considered to be a geeky teenager by other Cyberbrains. (Based on this vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/o… )

- Galaboo 4488. Another HSIS student, who's a smart cookie even for Cyberbrains! He's got a Robraint model, which puts almost ALL of its efforts into brainpower and CPU functionality. But as a result, has little to no extra features, and is even physically weaker than usual. This is very off-putting to most Cyberbrains looking for a new model of Cyber-Body, but for Galaboo, brainpower is key to success. Albeit PE is out of the question for him. (From :iconkasarithemagicalbear: )

- Cyberpower 3468. A strongman and manual laborer in Cyberbrain society, with a Cyberpower model. Unlike the others in this page, this particular model is most focused on physical power, and the ability to do heavy-duty work. As clunky as it looks, it's the best he can afford for jobs like Megascale Constructing, Security Droning, and Long-Distance Delivery. He hopes to one day buy a CPU-Increaser to allow him to be as smart as his brethren. (Based on a background character from Rick and Morty)

--------------

The Cyberbrains are a race of mechanical beings from the volcanic planet of Ignemia, who were originally created by another race known as the Mondasians. They were originally servants, who were cloned and employed for services. But after their creators had gone extinct on Ignemia, thanks to several experiments rendering it uninhabitable, the Cyberbrains picked up where the Mondasians left off, and made Ignemia new again.

About BIOLOGY/FUNCTIONING
- Cyberbrains begin life when a Cyberbrain family decides to have a child, and picks up a child-growing kit. This kit involves has: an Injector and Fertile Egg, which is what grows into newborn brain matter. A Security Vat, a sphere-shaped capsule where they grow inside. A Nourishing Fluid Mix, which feeds the baby brain matter and allows it to grow. And a Net Port, which allows mutual communication between the growing baby and family, as well as allows them to connect the baby brain matter to educational material.

- When the baby brain matter is sufficiently developed, they are transplanted into their first Cyber-Body. A robotic body which safely stores their brain matter, and contains nourishing fluid that keeps the brain alive. This fluid's nutrients must be replaced, by "eating". Namely, placing food matter into a chute somewhere in their stomach areas, while their Digestive Unit extracts materials from it. When the body is sufficiently nourished, the chute locks shut, to prevent their organic matter from getting sick via overeating.

- Cyber-Body models are usually most accustomed to what the individual Cyberbrain is currently doing for a living. However, they can make enough money to buy Added Features they can build into themselves. For example, Jetpacks, Wireless Extranet Connectors, Scanners, Higher CPU, Translators, and Increased Sensory Input are popular Added Features. A lot of Added Features on one Cyberbrain is often a sign of wealth.

- A Cyberbrain will only change Cyber-Bodies in two cases. When they grow as a child, where they have to regularly replace training models they outgrow. And about every 70 years, which is the natural lifespan of most Cyber-Body models. By that time, they start rusting, and they don't work as efficiently, requiring the old model to be scrapped, and their organic matter to be transplanted into a new model. They can do this over and over again, if their organic matter is left sufficiently intact.

- The main method of communication between Cyberbrains is through reading of brain waves, which also manifests as different flashing colors within their brain cases. However, when going to places where they may possibly communicate with other races, they can install new communication devices. Including a speech synthesizer, allowing them to talk to species that speak.

About CULTURE
- Cyberbrain culture is...incredibly Retro. Think of the Jetsons! Think of Retro Futurism Art! Think of those vintage Modern Mechanix magazine covers, for 15 cents a copy! THAT'S their society! The rest of the Galactic Community actually thinks they're behind, and the Cyberbrains are kind of embarrassed to admit it.

- On Ignemia, nanotech isn't very commonly used. However, what IS commonly used is Metal Siliconium. A strong, shiny metal found in abundance in their world, and quite easy to smelt, as Cyberbrains can build smelting foundries on one of Ignemia's many volcanoes. Seriously, they use that stuff for everything.

- Much of their history was cleaning up the environmental mess that their creators have made. While the Mondasians are long gone, the Cyberbrains are still pretty broken up about having to fix their planet. Thankfully, they were able to repair most of their planet's damage, while using the volcanic areas left to build Siliconium Foundries.

- Cyberbrains are often confused for Denebian Cyborgs. They're both essentially organic parts inside a metallic shell. This is a mistake, because Cyberbrains are built first with basic living in mind, knowing they have a planet to call home. In the meanwhile, because Denebian Cyborgs have no planet, they find a job on the Extranet, and THEN modify themselves. Super-specializing themselves to do that job, in trade for having a new source of food and shelter.

- Once, the Cyberbrains required to settle down on planet Vulcatraz, while they re-terraform their planet. But unfortunately, they accidentally made enemies with the Tau Warriors, who perceived this as an invasion. The Tau Warriors are a race of intensely aggressive crustacean-like people who waged war on them, and had made numerous attempts to invade Ignemia ever since.

Ooh, they look really nice! Glad I can see what Cyberbrain really looks like, now! xD
